Offered is this 1971 Dodge Dart. This is largely complete and is just a parts car.
What it is:
1971 Dodge Dart, left the factory with a rip-snortin' 225 six with a thirsty one-barrel carb. Backed by a 904 auto, small 7.25” rear end, and it has the strangest rear suspension I've ever seen on a Dart. This car has factory air conditioning, tint windows, belt mouldings, vinyl top.
The good:
It's largely complete. The engine turns over, but will need a rebuild. All AC parts appear to be there, but are crusty. The belt, drip rail, vinyl top, rear window mouldings are in very very nice shape. The windshield moulding has several small dings along the top. All tint glass is good (the driver door has grey film applied to it). The bench seat is nice, and has very nice head rests. The back seat looks good, door and rear panels are decent. The dash is complete, but an aftermarket radio was installed, so the radio opening has been modified. The rest of the dash parts look good. The dash pad is very nice, BUT does have one very tiny small hole in the pad. The underdash wiring has probably been spliced as a result of the radio install.
Body-wise, the grille is very nice with the exception of one vertical slat having been broken out on the driver side. Both headlamp bezels are nice, as are the park lamp lenses. Both front fender extensions are nice. Passenger door is nice; the driver door has some rot in the corners. Surprisingly, the trunk floor is there, even the spare tire well. The decklid is nice, and has the rear wing cutouts. Tail lamp lenses are nice, although one has a minor chip along the bottom. The rear bumper has been painted, but doesn't look like it was stripped or filled. Has four rallye wheels. Have ignition and trunk lock keys, and some paperwork.
The bad:
The front fenders have rot in the heels and along the top. The hood, while super-cool with the paint and scoop, is best used as garage art. The quarter panels are junk, the floors are rotted, the interior is dirty (and the carpet moldy). The dash metal frame is crusty and rotted along the bottom. Front suspension is low, probably because of broken torsion bars or rotted anchors. Trans condition is unknown, rear drums are locked.
A heck of a parts car, and some pretty interesting yard art.
If you need a largely compete parts car, this may be worthy of your consideration.
