    Description

This listing is for a relatively solid and fairly straight 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado Custom 2 door hardtop that can be restored. It would also make a superb parts car if you have a rusty 1966 - 1970 Toronado that needs a better frame or body. The frame and most of the chassis parts except for the engine will also fit the 1967 - 1970 Cadillac Eldorados.
I am listing this for a friend who has about 200 cars from the 1950's through the mid-1970's that should be saved rather than crushed. I will try to list several of them here every month. I am starting with a few Oldsmobiles that I had a chance to clean the floors on a few months ago. I also plan to list a 1965 Oldsmobile Jetstar I hardtop, 1965 Starfire hardtop, a 1965 Starfire convertible body with a rust front frame, as well as a white 1977 or 1978 Toronado XS with the large wrap around rear window soon here on eBay.
This car is for sale locally so please do not delay if you are at all serious about owning this car. This car was repainted many years ago and it appears to have had some damage on both of the quarter panels that have a skim coating of bondo body filler on them. There is minor rear fender rust behind both of the rear wheel openings. I had to leave where the car is located before I could rip the trunk carpet out to see how good or bad the trunk floor is.
This is a rather unusual Toronado because it is very well equipped but has manually operated instead of power windows. It came standard with the automatic transmission, power steering and power front drum brakes. Disc brakes were an option on the Toronado in 1967 and most likely standard from 1968 onward.
This car also features the 6-way power front seat, AM push button radio. "Comfortron" automatically controlled air conditioner and most likely some other options I can not recall.
This car has the "Custom" interior which featured fancier upholstery and door panels, the "Strato Bucket" split bench front seat with individual back rests and a fold down center arm rest. The "Custom" interior option also featured inside door handles near the back of the doors so that the rear seat passengers could easily open the door to get out.
The engine and hood are missing in these photos but it appears that the transmission, blue torque converter and differential unit with both drive shafts are included. I have a good dark green hood that will go with this car.
No idiot has ever jumped on the roof of this car so that is at least a ,000 bonus if you were to hire a caved in roof fixed by a professional body man.
There appears to be some relatively minor body damage to the front of the left front fender. This car comes with 4 wheels and tires that hold air to make it easier to move around and load on a trailer.
I have a lot more photos I can email to you if you call me with your email address.
Please remember, this is a Montana car where we get an average annual moisture amount (including snow) of 12" or less. A car like this has been neglected for many years with the doors open or missing, windows down or missing and the trunk lid open or missing. Consequently a car like this will tend to rust from the top down rather than from the bottom up as cars do in the wetter parts of this country.
This car comes with good transferable Montana paper work. A fork lift is available to help load this "gem in the rough". I may be able to arrange safe and economical delivery depending on where you live and how soon you want this car. I may add more information as the days go by so please check this listing every couple of days or so. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana USA
