Description
This listing is for a very straight and relatively solid 1959 Mercury Monterey two door hardtop. I bought this very solid Montana car several years ago from a collector who stripped the rear window and some trim parts to keep for spares for the similar car he restored. I now have over 200 collector vehicles to deal with so I am not likely to get to this project. That is why it is here for the world of Mercury, Edsel, Ford and Lincoln collectors to have, preserve, restore and enjoy. This very solid original car has no rust holes in either front or the left rear foot well. As you can see in the tenth photo of this listing, there are some rust holes in the right rear foot well. As you can see in the last two photos, the trunk floor is very solid. It does have a small rust hole or blister hole in the left rear, right rear and right front corners. There are no rusted out spots in either of the front fenders or doors. There is some rust in the bottom of the rear quarter panels and the fronts of both rocker panels.
The top has never been caved in so that is a ,000 bonus. Both the hood and the trunk lid and in very nice condition with no rust spots or damage to speak of. Due to our relatively dry climate here in Montana, the die-cast zinc parts have either no or only very light pitting on them. The distinctive hood ornament has absolutely no pitting on it at all. The front door interior panels are included as are all of the steel moldings that finish the insides of the windshield and rear windows.
The engine has no intake manifold, carburetor or air cleaner. The radiator is missing. This car has power steering and automatic transmission. I have a lot more larger and more detailed photos that I can email to you. I can help arrange safe and reasonable shipping to any part of the world. I have lots of free and reasonably secure outdoor storage here if you are planning a trip to beautiful2015. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana USA
