In 1954 at GM Motorama, GM desginers and engineers unveiled a uniquely designed 2-door wagon to the public to gauge their reaction to the bold design. Consumers loved the car, tagged as one of Harley Earl's "dream cars". Instead of developing an entirely new model line to support the wagon, Chevrolet, using the existing popularity of the Bel Air name, presented the Nomad as the Bel Air Nomad - a wagon for those looking for more space in their Bel Air. The wagon was a hit and would continue production on and off until 1972.
This 1957 Nomad is the result of an over-the-top restoration completed by the previous owner. Finished in India Ivory over Coronado Yellow, this car was restored with a nod to originality while adding certain modern conveniences. Powered by a small block Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch motor tied to a 2-speed Powerglide transmission, this Nomad is the kind of car you that you can confidently drive to any show and leave with your Best in Show trophy. Power brakes, power steering round out an ideal Nomad to drive. On the inside, the black and yellow interior is complimented by the black dash. Throughout the interior of this car, it is obvious that no corners were cut during the restoration. India Ivory over Coronado Nomads are not common and this car presents a tremendous opportunity to own the most iconic year of this famous wagon.
Unless stated otherwise, mileage shown on odometer is exempt and unknown if original.
