Designed by Adolph A. Weinman,the front of the coin shows Lady Liberty attired in the United States flag  walking towards the rising sun carrying a bundle of oak and laurel branches in her left arm, while her right arm stretches out in front of her as a welcoming gesture. To the right of the image are the words “In God We Trust.” On the reverse is a majestic eagle perched on a branch, the bird represents the ideals of courage and bravery.
